From SketchUp to AI Photorealism: Modern Gate Design Concepts
Designing gates is not just about function – it’s about making a statement for the home. Recently, I’ve been experimenting with a workflow that combines SketchUp for modeling and Nanobana AI for photorealistic rendering. The result is a set of designs that bridge technical accuracy with creative visualization. The Process 1. SketchUp Modeling – I start by building the base gate structures with precise dimensions in millimeters. This ensures fabrication can be considered later on. 2. Nanobana AI Rendering – Once the models are ready, I enhance them using Nanobana AI to achieve a photorealistic finish. This allows me (and potential clients) to see how the gate will look in a real environment. Why This Workflow Works Realism – AI rendering adds shadows, reflections, and material textures that SketchUp alone doesn’t deliver. Creativity – I can experiment with colors, patterns, and finishes quickly. Practicality – The base SketchUp file still contains real measurements, making i...
